Cygnus Flare win Yamaha Soho Jazz Sessions, Swinging Magpies video, Amati Orchestra + lots of classi
Very pleased to report that my trio Cygnus Flare won this year's Soho Jazz Sessions competition at Yamaha London, judged by Ronnie Scott's and Jazz FM representatives. There were 5 weeks of bands playing live in the Yamaha store, with a finalist from each week playing at the final on Thursday.. All the bands were great and the event was really fun. It was streamed on Facebook live and is now accessible on the Yamaha Facebook page if anyone is interested. The prize is a gig at Ronnie Scott's later in the year.
I recorded a couple of videos with the Swinging Magpies earlier in the week where we dressed up all vintage 1920s.. which is always fun! Here's one that our guitarist Greg finished editing today:
