CarolineS_drums Day 8

Today has been nice - no gigs or rehearsals for the first time in a while, so I got time to properly practise some music for gigs tomorrow and the next day. The hardest piece by far for the concert tomorrow is Sibelius Symphony 2, which kind of frightened me a few days ago when I first heard it - so I went through all 7 pages and made sure there are enough cues and pitch changes written in so that I should always have a good idea of what is happening in the other sections of the orchestra. I've attached the picture of page 1/7 - these notes are pretty extreme but it'll be the first time I've met the orchestra, and they've been rehearsing this music for a while, so I want to turn up and slot right in. If anything I find that writing notes like this helps because I'm following the score and listening to the music in depth, it really helps to internalise it and the notes serve as a reminder for the concert (where nerves can creep in!).
